Rebel 4002
The Country Gentlemen |
 |
The Country Gentelmen
have been hailed by many as the first modern band to fuse
rock and pop elements with the traditional sounds of bluegrass.
The years that they spent on Rebel Records in the 1960s and
the early 1970s were witness to the maturing of this group
from regional favorites in the Washington D.C. area to seasoned
veterans of world-class status. From the "classic"incarnation
of Charlie Waller-John Duffey-Eddie Adcock-Tom Grey up through
the excellent Charlie Waller-Doyle Lawson-Bill Emerson-Bill
Yates lineup of 1971, this box contains songs such as Bringing
Mary Home, Matterhorn, Fox On The Run, and the Legend
Of The Rebel Soldier which helped establish the Country
Gentlemen as one of the most important bands in bluegrass
history.
