Ralph Stanley
Recorded over Memorial Day weekend in 1975, this album captures Dr. Stanley and his band along with a number of guests in a festival setting. Dr. Stanley, whose lead singer at the time was Keith Whitley, accounts for 6 of the 25 tracks and is joined on one of those by Bill Monroe ("On My Way Back to the Old Home") and on another by Jimmy Martin on vocals and mandolin ("White Dove"). There are two or three songs each by these other bands as well: Marshall Family, Larry Sparks, Country Gentlemen, Reno & Harrell, Goins Brothers, Sullivan Family, and the Outdoor Plumbing Company.
