Junior Sisk has a strong, distinctive voice and knows how to use it. On Blue Side of the Blue Ridge, Sisk made his debut as a bandleader by playing straight, hard-edged, traditional bluegrass he has since become famous for. He is backed here by a solid band that includes his relative and long time cohort Tim Massey (harmony vocals & bass). This album also features a good collection of songs that are sure to please fans of that hard-driving sound, including "Leaving Baker County," (a Tom T. Hall song), "I Did The Leaving For You," "Little Bit Of This, Little Bit Of That," and the title track.
