Del Mccoury
Originally recorded in 1971 and released on the now defunct Grassound label, this long out of print collector's item is in fact one of the best recordings that this bluegrass legend ever made. Livin' On The Mountain compares well with Del McCoury's best work of today. This album features strong traditional pickers in Dick Staber on mandolin, John Farmer on banjo, and Dewey Renfro on bass, plus the special treat of Buddy Spicher and Jimmy Buchanan on twin fiddles. McCoury's razor-sharp voice is in fine form, as always, and the song selection is among the best of any of Del's recordings.
