High Fidelity continues to honor the roots of traditional bluegrass with Never Say Goodbye, a 13-track collection featuring ten secular selections and three gospel numbers. With masterful musicianship, tight harmonies, and a knack for uncovering forgotten gems, the band brings fresh life to timeless sounds.
Highlights include the title track, a rare Louvin Brothers composition arranged in the style of Jim & Jesse; “When It’s Time for the Whippoorwill to Sing,” featuring guests Joe Mullins and Mark Rader; and “The Lonesome Road,” a 1927 composition believed to be making its bluegrass debut. The album also features the a cappella gospel number “In the City Where the Lamb Is the Light,” spirited instrumentals “Cattle in the Corn” and “Fling Ding,” and lead single “Red Ball Rocket Train,” continuing the band's tradition of including a train song on every non-gospel album.
