On their 2nd album for Rebel, the Kenny and Amanda Smith Band continued to establish themselves as one of the leading voices in contemporary traditional bluegrass. The 14 song program is mostly new material—well chosen and beautifully done, especially the title song, 'Pacific Time,' 'Going Across the Sea,' 'Gulfstream Dreaming,' 'A Thousand Miles Ago,' 'Our Last Goodbye,' and a nice hymn 'Just Any Day Now.' As on their first record, Amanda's remarkably intimate and wistful voice lends a beautiful quality to these tracks, while Kenny's picking is absolutely top-notch, alongside Steve Huber on banjo and Jason Robertson on mandolin.
