Chris Jones & The Night Drivers
Chris Jones may have begun as a highly successful broadcaster and songwriter, but his recent albums with the Night Drivers show why he is known today as much for his work as a bandleader as for his time spent wearing other hats. His distinctive voice is heard here on a 13-song program featuring many originals that showcase Jones' way with words, alongside a Tom T. and Dixie Hall number ("Where I Am") and a number of older tracks. A highlight is certainly Jones’ popular remake of C.W. McCall’s "Wolf Creek Pass," a country hit in the 1970s.
