High Waters (2002)

Dave Evans

High Waters is one of two albums Dave Evans recorded for the small Neon label out of Kentucky that has now been re-released on Rebel (Just Look At Me Now being the other). It features six Evans compositions, including the powerful “High Waters (Bad Blood),” “Cold Dark Cell” and “Stone Coal West Virginia” as well as six other well-chosen tracks like “He Died a Rounder at 21” and a driving version of the old ballad “Fair River Side.” Evans plays lead guitar on many of the tracks here, giving a somewhat different feel than his other albums.
