Powerful, straight ahead traditional bluegrass from Sisk and his superb band in this, their third release for Rebel.  A well chosen set of songs includes a couple of old favorites in “Sea of Regret” and “String, Eraser & Blotter,” plus some songs written by John Pennell and Dixie & Tom Hall.  The piece that has gotten by far the most attention is a new song written by Tim Massey, Rick Pardue and Sisk entitled “A Far Cry from Lester & Earl.” It in fact received IBMA’s “Song of the Year” award for 2012.  And, at the same time, this album was named “Album of the Year.”  There’s a generous amount of tough, hard-edged traditional bluegrass here.
