J. D. Crowe
This album was originally issued on the Lemco label of Lexington, Kentucky when Doyle Lawson and Larry Rice were members of what some consider to be J.D. Crowe’s best band ever. It was Lawson’s first effort at selection and arrangement—he has since become a masterful and well-known producer of bluegrass gospel records fronting his own band Quicksilver. The album features some beautiful sacred songs, including “I Shall Be at Home With Jesus,” “Goin’ Up,” It’s Me Again Lord” and the title track.
